1. Regal — Best for Complex, Regulated Inbound and Outbound Conversations at Scale
Regal is an AI agent platform built for B2C contact centers in financial services, insurance, healthcare, higher education, local services and BPOs that run multi-step, regulated calls, such as enrollment, collections, scheduling and lead qualification, at more than 25,000 minutes a month. AI agents handle voice, SMS and chat on the same platform as your human agents, with a Unified Customer Profile that pulls CRM and policy data into every conversation. Multi-state AI agents follow branching calls without losing context (see single-state vs. multi-state agents), and compliance controls for regulated calls are covered in our compliance and security ranking.
Regal Copilot builds, tests and monitors agents with your team, and Forward Deployed Engineers work alongside you on complex deployments. Regal picks models using its own Voice CX Benchmark, and its Voicemail Detection model routes roughly 45% fewer voicemails to live agents. Regal has powered more than 500 million calls, and it also connects to existing Five9 contact centers through Five9 AI Agent Connect.
The tradeoff: Regal isn't the lowest-touch, cheapest option for simple FAQ deflection. It's built for teams whose AI agent has to hold up under real regulatory and operational complexity, and building agents takes prompt work, with help from Copilot and Regal's team.
2. Genesys Cloud CX — Best for One Suite Across Voice, Digital and Workforce Engagement
Genesys Cloud CX is a cloud contact center suite that includes AI agents alongside routing, digital channels, workforce engagement and journey analytics. AI agents, agent assist and journey management sit on one architecture, so enterprises that want AI agents managed inside the same platform that already runs their contact center operations can manage everything in one place.
The tradeoff: breadth over depth. A suite covers more ground than a voice specialist, but a narrow, high-complexity call, like an insurance enrollment line, may need more conversation design work to get right.
3. NICE CXone Mpower — Best for Standardizing the Full Contact Center Stack on One Vendor
CXone Mpower is NICE's cloud contact center platform. NICE acquired Cognigy in 2025 and uses it as the platform's AI agent layer, so AI agents run natively on the same platform as the ACD, workforce management and quality management rather than as a separate integration. That makes it a fit for large enterprises that want one vendor for the whole stack.
The tradeoff: customizing conversation logic works best inside NICE's own tooling and conventions, which can slow teams that want a highly custom, multi-state design.
4. Five9 — Best for Adding AI Agents to an Existing Five9 Contact Center
Five9 is a cloud contact center platform with AI agents and generative AI tools built into its routing and agent desktop. For contact centers already running on Five9, AI agents live inside the system the team already uses, so they can start automating calls without a platform migration.
The tradeoff: the AI is layered onto a contact center platform rather than built as a dedicated AI agent platform. Teams with complex, multi-step calls often pair Five9 with a specialist; Regal, for example, connects through Five9 AI Agent Connect. See Regal's Five9 integration.
5. Talkdesk — Best for Cloud CCaaS Buyers Who Want Industry-Packaged Editions
Talkdesk is a cloud contact center platform with AI agents and industry-specific editions for sectors like healthcare and financial services. For mid-market and enterprise teams buying a cloud contact center and wanting AI agents included from the start, the industry-packaged workflows shorten setup for common use cases in its target verticals.
The tradeoff: packaged workflows are faster to start but less flexible for unusual or highly regulated multi-step conversations.
6. PolyAI — Best for a Fully Managed Service for High-Volume Inbound Calls
PolyAI is a managed voice AI service: its team designs the call flows and integrates the agent into your existing contact center stack. It suits banking, insurance, healthcare and travel contact centers that want voice AI without building it themselves, with PolyAI owning the build, in more than a dozen languages, for inbound-heavy call patterns.
The tradeoff: because PolyAI owns the build and iteration process, changes go through its team, which can be slower than editing agents yourself. It's focused on inbound calls rather than outbound campaigns.
7. Parloa — Best for European Enterprises with EU Regulatory Requirements
Parloa is an AI agent platform for orchestrating voice agents across the customer lifecycle, with its roots in Europe. Its certification and deployment focus is built around European financial services and insurance, which fits enterprises, especially in Europe and the DACH region, that need EU-specific compliance such as GDPR and DORA.
The tradeoff: its center of gravity is Europe. North American contact centers running heavy outbound programs may want a platform built for US rules like TCPA and Regulation F.
8. Retell AI — Best for Engineering Teams Building Their Own Voice Agents
Retell AI is a developer platform and API for building, testing and deploying voice agents, priced by usage. It's fast to start for startups and engineering teams that want to build and run their own voice agents in code, with flexible APIs and pay-as-you-go pricing.
The tradeoff: your team owns the build, the contact center integrations and the compliance work. Enterprise contact centers without a dedicated engineering team usually need a platform with contact center operations, human handoff and compliance controls built in.
